The Lord of the Rings → different places in Middle Earth

This is the part where Sam opens his eyes.
They’ll flutter open, heavy with sleep, and it’ll all be over.
Dean sits on the edge of his chair, waiting, just waiting for Sam to put him out of his misery.
“C’mon, Sammy,” Dean manages to push out, his tongue thick with emotion and regret.
If only he was a few seconds earlier, a few seconds quicker, a few seconds better.
Silence sits in the air between them, not even Sam’s breathing or heartbeat to comfort his older brother.
“Dammit, Sam, you can’t leave. Not now, not like this.”
Still, the quiet between them is agonizing and Dean chokes back a sob.
He knows what he has to do, knows that it’s the only way.
He gets up from his seated position where he’s been for days to stand over Sam’s body. “I’ll make this up to you, Sammy. I’m going to fix this, here ‘n now, and you’ll be okay.”
Dean wipes his hand across his face, taking a deep breath as he tears his eyes away from his brother’s face. “It’ll all be okay.”

30 Days of Wincest ╬ Day 4 - Favorite Season 2 Moment
Episode 9 - Croatoan
So what, so you’re just gonna give up? I mean, you’re just gonna lay down and die? Look Dean, I know this stuff with dad had-
You’re wrong, it’s not about Dad.Season 2, being my favorite season, is utterly filled to the brim with “favorite moments” for me. But this, right here, is at the top. Both of the boys absolutely break my heart in this scene. Sam has accepted his fate, opting to shoot himself once the others were gone so that he could die on his own terms and before he could hurt anyone else. Dean, untouched by the disease, could leave with the others and be safe. But he won’t. He refuses to leave Sam. And we’re given this scene where everything they never say between them is so loud and clear that you can practically hear them screaming it. Sam desperately wants Dean to leave, because he doesn’t want Dean to die. Dean refuses to leave because he doesn’t want to go on living without Sam. So they end up, for even just a short moment, settling in to a suicide pact. And it says so much about who they are and what they have between them. This all-consuming codependency that won’t let them live without each other and places the life of their brother miles above their own.
This time you’re gonna have to figure it out for yourself
